Abstract
Le comité des programmes en formation à distance de la Télé-université a mis en place un système d’encadrement-programme visant à favoriser la persistance des étudiants aux études supérieures et à assurer à chacun un cheminement harmonieux dans le programme choisi. Ce système s’appuie sur une approche constructiviste et veut fournir un encadrement sur les plans cognitif, social, affectif, motivationnel et métacognitif. Les activités s’adressent à tous les étudiants et visent des objectifs reliés au programme dépassant ceux fixés pour les cours. Des activités obligatoires et facultatives sont proposées permettant des interactions entre les étudiants, les ressources des programmes ou de la communauté de la formation à distance et les autres étudiants. Les moyens sont variés : bulletin d’information, revue, rencontres, journée d’étude, tutorat programme, etc. et toutes les technologies utilisées en formation à distance sont mises à profit. Bien que faible, la participation des étudiants à ces activités est continue et permettrait un soutien social et affectif important. Il est aussi probable que ces activités permettent la création d’une communauté d’intervenants en formation à distance contribuant à définir les savoirs et l’espace social du domaine de la formation à distance.
The program committee in distance education at Télé-université established a system of supervision: a program that seeks to foster students’ perseverance in higher education studies and to ensure that each follows a harmonious route through the chosen program. This system is based on a constructivist approach and is designed to provide supervision at the cognitive, socioaffective, motivational, and metacognitive levels. The activities are intended for all students, and the goal is for the program objectives to go farther than those established for the courses. Compulsory and optional activities are proposed, which allow interactions among students, program’s resources, or members of the distance education community and other students. The means are varied: information bulletins, magazines, meetings, a study day, a tutorial program, and so forth, taking advantage of all the technologies used in distance education. Although low, students’ participation in these activities is continual and fosters important socioaffective support. These activities will probably also enable a community of actors in distance education to be established who will contribute to defining knowledge and the social space of the field of distance education.
